The whole house has been newly renovated with all modern comforts, while preserving the original architecture, like the beautiful arches made of terracotta bricks.
Here you can truly experience Sicilian history, for example at the beginning of the 1900's the finest Sicilian wine barrels were built right here! As a matter of fact, the house is located in the heart of the historical wine district, Vino dell' Etna. In our Welcome book we will share more info and curiosities about the property!
This house is strategically located to visit Eastern Sicily because it's right in the middle of the golden triangle Taormina - Etna - Catania, which are all equally distant from Riposto about 40 min by car. Also Syracuse, Noto, and Caltagirone (famous for its Sicilian ceramics) are perfect destinations for a day’s trip.
The Tourist Harbor (Porto dell'Etna) is just a few minutes down the road: here you can admire the splendid yachts while taking a nice walk, or while eating at the nearby cafes.
The beach district is close (only 2 Km from the house, less than 1.5 miles), but you can also find access to smaller beaches just within walking distance from the house.
Did I mention that you are less than 15 minutes away from the famous castle where The Godfather was filmed? You can easily arrange a tour of the castle.
The house is located in a traffic-free alley where you can walk to the best eateries and wineries. Our local bakeries are famous in the entire province for their authentic Sicilian recipes, like arancini and granita. Also grocery stores are within walking distance, as well as shops and pharmacies. The famous Riposto Fish Market is just steps away, and lots of stalls in the market area offer a great selection of local fruits and veggies, always super fresh.
You will also be able to walk to the station of the regional railway Circumetnea to take a vintage tour of all the towns around Mount Etna. The national railway is accessible as well, at the nearby station of Giarre-Riposto.
This is one of the rare downtown properties built entirely on one floor (no stairs!) and with free private parking. It also features a typical Sicilian courtyard in the back, totally private.
